This page explains how the content on The Finance Linkup is made, so you can decide how far to trust it.

Purpose

We publish general money education for people in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean. We aim to explain, not to sell. We do not give personal advice.

How lessons are written

How news summaries work

We read the original report and write our own short summary, then link to the source so you can read the full story. We do not copy articles, photographs or logos. Where a figure comes from a government statement or a second-hand summary, we say so. Each story carries a date, and the news page shows when it was last reviewed. Market figures are snapshots and change quickly.

When sources disagree

Official figures and rules are sometimes reported differently by different sources, or change after we publish. When we find a conflict, we say so, show the sources and send you to the official website, such as the Ministry of Finance, the Board of Inland Revenue or the Central Bank. Our job is to explain the ideas and show you where to look. We do not tell you which option to choose, and the decision is always yours.
